First, please give yourself a pat on the back for enrolling your child in winter swim lessons. It is so imperative to begin to prepare for a safer summer NOW. Taking extended seasonal breaks can set a child back. In fact, a key factor of how children (and adults!) learn is through repetition; breaking the pattern of repetition may have them losing skills or confidence.
But what about colds and viruses in cooler months? Contrary to popular belief, your child will not be more susceptible to colds in the winter months at swim. Our comfortable, 88-90 degree water will ensure children’s body temperatures are safe no matter what month or season. Also, keep in mind, exercise is especially beneficial for strengthening immune systems and keeping children and adults safe from illness.
Please check out our simple tips and recommendations for more comfortable winter swim lessons below.
- Pack bigger sweats for your swimmer (and yourself if you’re a water baby parent). Nothing feels better than throwing on comfy, no fuss clothes instead of jeans or stretchie pants when you get out of the water.
- I hate to say it… Fuzzy Crocs! Or other warm slip on shoes are a must. I just purchased mine a few days ago.
- Take advantage of our locker rooms and changing areas. We have warm showers and blow drying stations.
See everyone at the pool!
