As some of you already know I am happy to be back in the pool and teaching lessons on Tuesdays. Last year, I spent a good amount of time building the Lakeside location and it took me away from the operations quite a bit. Being in the pool gives me a unique perspective of our program. I am so grateful to be working with your swimmers and also with the teachers in giving them some helpful insights on teaching and kids etc.
I will be working with all of our team members over the next few months and hopefully be able to share my 10,000 hours of swim lesson experiences with them. (Have you read “Outliers” by Malcom Gladwell?)
Njswim Teachers
Our focus for the New Year is to really instill consistency in our teachers and develop them so that they, in turn, have the tools they need to provide your swimmers with safe, effective, and fun lessons. If you know someone who is great with children, honest, reliable, and fun, please go ahead and send them our way. Our teacher training program is between 40-60 hours long and we pay our new recruits for their time… It really is a fulfilling career.
New Website
Last fall, we gave our website www.njswim.com an overhaul. We listened to what you had to say and tried to make it easy to navigate, visually stimulating, and filled with useful information regarding our world. If you have not taken a look yet, I encourage you to do so. Feel free to give me any feedback that you think will enhance the Njswim virtual experience.
You may need to clear your cache if you haven’t been on the site in a while. In the next couple of months we will be doing some photo shoots at the locations to update some of the images. Let me know what you think!
Mixed Messages
During the transition to the new site, we also switched our server and web host. With that, we recently discovered that we lost about 100 of your emails from the “contact us” page. If you, or someone you referred to the program has not received a message back or a call back over the last month, please let us know.
We really pride ourselves on family service and we really went nuts trying to reclaim the lost messages… Our managers literally lost sleep. Please, please please let us know so we can be in contact with you or your friends.
Referral Rewards
So many of you have participated in our referral rewards programs and received funds on your accounts for recommending Njswim. Free money is cool! And a referral is truly the best compliment that you can give us and we really appreciate that. So thank you!
With our limited pool space available, especially in the after school sessions, time is of the essence for you and or your friends to reserve your spots. We have witnessed about a 10% increase in enrollment over the past two weeks and we do not want you or your friends to get shut out for the spring.
If you know someone who is thinking about joining Njswim – please encourage them to reach out right away. It really is a bummer when someone comes in and we cannot provide them with our services.
Calling all Troops!
As many of you already participate in programs in our new Studio at Njswim Sparta, note that we are rolling out some new programs in the coming months.
Look for Boy Scout and Girl Scout swim badge programs. If you are involved in Scouts and want to get your troops in our pools for this program please let us know.
Home School Swim
Another great program we are launching in the coming months is our new Njswim Home School Swim program. We have had several inquiries regarding a program of this nature and we look forward to providing some Swim PE for our Home School Community.
Scribblers to Picasso
We will be launching our Studio Arts programs next week in Sparta, NJ. We will kick off this program next Monday, January 19th with a FREE orientation art lesson for children 3 and up! This program has received some great feedback as a spinoff of the art that we teach in our Parents Night Out program. Grab your smock!
As you can imagine we have been very busy over the past few months in developing Njswim. I hope you all are enjoying your time with your families. My own kids are growing up so quickly. People told me all the time how time flies, and you really don’t believe it when you are changing diapers at 4am. HA! But I am seeing it now! Give your kids a hug for me and remember to tell them they should be proud of themselves for every little accomplishment in and out of the water or the studio.
