There’s an anonymous saying that goes, “To teach is to touch a life forever.” Many of us know this to be true and are thankful for a great teacher who made a positive impact on our life.
If you love children and want to become one of those outstanding teachers, consider becoming a Njswim teacher. Njswim is looking for people to join our 150+ team members who help make an important difference in children’s lives every day.
Importance of Children Learning to Swim
Children gain a lot when learning to swim. Not only do they improve their coordination and motor skills, but swimming motions even help increase cognitive development in babies.
Mastering swimming skills helps children gain self-confidence. And this confidence usually transfers over to all aspects of their lives as they grow.
Learning to swim is an essential life skill. Unfortunately, drowning is the second most common cause of death for children aged 4 and under. As children get older, the number one risk of drowning is the lack of swimming ability. Knowing how to swim can keep children and adults safer in and around water.
Our Njswim Swim Team Teachers Are the Best
Visit any of our Njswim schools and it’s obvious our Njswim families love our swim teachers. It’s clear in the smiles and laughter. And at Njswim, we work hard to keep it that way.
When hiring new teachers, we seek kind, caring, dynamic individuals with the desire to teach and help students progress—not only in the pool, but in life.
Our swim centers have outstanding amenities—including comfortably heated pools. But our number one asset, by far, is our dedicated swim team.
We’re Now Hiring New Swim Teachers

Swim Teacher Training
At Njswim, all team members are trained to be swim teachers. This includes everyone from the owner and founder of the company to directors and managers.
We enroll all deck supervisors and lifeguards in our Swim Teacher Career Path.
As part of this innovative training, Njswim team members learn about our swim philosophy, “Learn to Float,” and about childhood development as well.
Our teachers know each child is an individual with their own fears, motivators, and abilities.
Each member of our staff learns how to provide instruction for all skill levels and ages. They learn to help students overcome fears and are always supportive and gentle—never, ever harsh.
And it’s not just our students who learn. Our teachers experience personal and professional growth – whether by working with our students in the pool, or by involvement with our community outreach water safety programs.
Njswim is proud to offer an excellent advancement pathway for all teachers. We have many leadership opportunities for dedicated team members who want to grow their skills is this direction.

Extra Njswim Teacher Benefits
We know the importance of flexibility for our swim families and our teachers as well. Njswim offers flexible employment schedules to accommodate our year-round classes.
We value our teachers and offer competitive wages.
And we know you will enjoy our positive and upbeat environment.
What Sets Njswim Apart from Other Swim Schools
Njswim is the largest privately owned, year-round swim school in New Jersey.
We keep all swim classes small, no larger than three, so all students have a safe and personalized learning experience.
Safety is always our number one priority. During an individual swim lesson or class, there is always another team member on deck, out of the water, making sure students are staying safe.
Our pools are warm and smaller by design. This helps create an intimate learning experience for each child.
Our Learn to Float Philosophy
Njswim’s “Learn to Float” philosophy features a Zen-like approach to swimming.
Teachers assist students as they first develop proper body position and breath control and then learn stroke technique. This approach helps students overcome fears, as they feel safe and aware around the water. And this easiness in the water translates to a love of water that will last a lifetime.
Students go through our swim school progression at their own pace, with the goal of learning swimming and water safety skills while they grow in confidence and aquatic ability.
What Two of Our Location Managers Have to Say
We recently asked Njswim’s Turnersville Location Manager and Jersey South Regional Manager, Stephanie Lilly, “What sets the Njswim teachers apart from others?”
She summed it up in these few words:
“They lead with love, patience, and passion. They are dedicated and passionate about what they do.”
We asked Mike Quartucci, Njswim’s Florham Park Location Manager, what he enjoys most about being Florham Park’s Location Manager.
His response was equally inspiring.
He said he most enjoys, “seeing his younger team members help a swimmer achieve a new skill and witnessing the joy and confidence this brings both the swimmer and the younger teacher.”
If you are inspired to become part of our team as a swim teacher, have swimming experience, love children, and want to make a difference, contact us at Njswim. We are now hiring.
